Gaza. Now.

Let me be clear: I do not align myself with ANY religious views in spite of my prescriptive faith-based upbringing. In fact, it is precisely my experiences with religion that led to the critical choices I've made, steering myself away from these practices and beliefs.

My question is actually pretty simple: isn't this genocide? And what the fuck are we doing? We are all implicated in this:

i seriously do no understand everything that is happening there. i don't think it's for want of knowing, but rather everything i've read has conflicting stories and confused reasoning. it's incredibly frustrating.

it's no coincidence that we don't know anything about this. i find it particularly troubling that the whole situation (and many like it) are written off as stemming from religious differences when in actuality, these situations are political, territorial, and economic. the media and many kind, well-intentioned citizens always want to insist that religion is the issue and even ask that oh-so-liberal question of "why can't we all just get along," which completely depoliticizes the real global, economic, political issues that need to be attended to. blah. i wouldn't even know where to start in terms of uncovering information - since we're currently in the U.S. and the U.S. is blindly a pro-Israel state, then we should probably start with Palestine.

yeah, mikey. that's been my impression all along. i feel like i would need to move there, though, to truly grasp what people are talking about. i dunno. i guess even cbc and bbc are confusing to me.

i think i know who i could ask... that elusive person who seems to have all the answers. ha!

oh obviously. why didn't we all just think of that in the first place?
